  • Work with national authorities and Argentine cities ((information up to 05/23/21)

     On the occasion of the 6th Global Road Safety Week, promoted by the United Nations from May 17 to 23, 2021, Luchemos por la Vida (Let`s Fight for Life) and Madres del Dolor (Mothers of Pain) decided to promote these initiatives in the cities of the country and at the national level, for that purpose, we have sent letters to over 700 municipalities and held virtual meetings and some face-to-face meetings with national authorities and 22 cities and NGOs in Argentina. This is the list of the 22 cities of Argentina summoned so far and the achievements to date. We understand that we have obtained enormous interest in the proposal, which is an indicator that the reduction in speed can continue to be promoted for the achievement of legislation and implementation in many Argentine cities. It is our goal to continue working on it.

1) National Road Safety Agency (ANSV), meetings with Dr. Pablo Martinez Carignano to present the proposals, achieving an official statement from the National Road Safety Agency (in Spanish), adhering to the 6th Global Week and inviting the country's cities to adhere to the 30 km/h reduction and the development of a joint campaign with LxV and Madres del Dolor, with the advice of Luchemos por la Vida, making visual communications that have been disseminated daily on social networks (in Spanish) during the Global Week and will continue to share throughout the year.

2) Buenos Aires City (CABA) Meetings with Juan José Méndez, the Head of Government Horacio Rodríguez Larreta signs the adhesion to the 6th Global Road Safety Week and undertakes (in Spanish) to paint (horizontal signage) the speed of 30 km / h in the streets with bicycle lanes, starting with 30 streets, to apply the regulations sanctioned in advance.

3) Bahía Blanca (Province of Buenos Aires) Meeting with Mayor Héctor Gay and his teamwho promised to implement the speed reduction to 30 km/h in downtown and in the main park of the city.

 

 

4) Mar del Plata (Province of Buenos Aires) meeting with Mayor Montenegro (in Spanish). They undertook to analyze, legislate the speed of 30 km/h on city streets where urban bicycle lanes will circulate, to be built soon. Red Cuidarte + joins the initiative and participates.

5) San Carlos de Bariloche (Province of Río Negro) Adherence to the 6th Global Week (in Spanish), and outreach campaign in the community about the 30 km/h reduction. They propose to legislate the reduction to 30 km/h.

6) Laprida (Province of Buenos Aires). Draft legislation for the reduction 30 (in Spanish), presented by councilors, pending approval in the local legislature.

7) San Vicente (Province of Misiones) draft legislation presented by councilors, pending approval in the local legislature.

8) Rada Tilly (Province of Chubut) draft legislation presented by councilors, pending discussion in the local legislature.

9) San Isidro (Province of Buenos Aires) meeting with Mayor Gustavo Posse (in Spanish). Declaration of interest of the 6th Global Week. Pending approval in the local legislature of a new bicycle lane and speed 30 km/h on that street.

10) Tolhuin (Province of Tierra del Fuego) (in Spanish) Declaration of Interest for the 6th week. Interest in the proposal to reduce speed to 30km/h. Joins the initiative and summons Road Victims relatives.

11) Ushuaia (Province of Tierra del Fuego) Interest in the proposal.

12) Río Grande (Province of Tierra del Fuego) (in  Spanish). The Deliberative Council declares of interest the 6th Global Week.

13) Neuquén (Province of Neuquén) The Deliberative Council declares of interest the 6th Global Week.

14) General Pico (Province of La Pampa) Members of the Deliberative Council express their interest in the 6th Global Week and undertake to analyze the proposal to reduce speed to 30km / h on streets. Proposal Presented with Estrellas Amarillas from La Pampa)

15) San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca (Province of Catamarca) Councilor Alicia Paz is interested in drafting legislation on the reduction of 30 km/h on the street.

16) Villa Carlos Paz (Province of Córdoba) The Deliberative council declares the 6th Global Week of interest. (Proposal presented by Concientizar para Prevenir CPP)

17) Trellew (Province of Chubut) Join the 6th Global Week.

18) Province of Buenos Aires. Senators interested in the project to promote it throughout the province.

19) Vicente López (Province of Buenos Aires) They are interested in the proposal of the 6th Week.

20) Bragado (Province of Buenos Aires) Declaration of interest and adherence to the 6th Global Week with lighting of public buildings.

21) Navarro (Province of Buenos Aires) They are interested in the proposal and adheres to the 6th Global Week.

22) Province of de Buenos Aires.  Ombudsman's Office. The Ombudsman Guido Lorenzino adheres to the 6th Global Week and undertakes to disseminate it in the province.
